March is National Youth Art Month, a time to celebrate and promote the arts and art education. Auburn-Washburn student artwork will be featured at several locations throughout the month. We encourage you to visit one or more of these impressive displays:
Kansas Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Hours: Mon-Fri: 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, Sat: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Sun: 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Come visit a great display of talented K-12 student artwork from across the state. Each Art Teacher in the state of Kansas can send one work of art to represent their school. This year we have 12 student artists representing the Auburn-Washburn School District! The exhibit will remain open through March 23.
WRHS Art Lock-in First Friday Exhibition at Stephen Smith Gallery
Opening Reception: Friday, March 1: 5:00 - 7:30 pm
Gallery Hours: Tues - Fri: 11:00 am - 6:30 pm, Sat: 11:00 am - 3:30 pm

Come see WRHS student artwork created during an evening lock-in event on Feb. 17, where they were inspired by guest artist, Ed Balda, who explained his process in creating atmospheric perspectives in his landscapes. Student artwork is on sale.

WRHS Advanced Art Student Showcase at NexLynx Gallery
Opening Reception: Friday, March 1: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Come see WRHS student's work currently enrolled in advanced art classes at Washburn Rural High School. Students work in a variety of media including metals, clay, acrylic, charcoal, graphite and various mixed media applications.
