Parking Permits

Students must abide by the following rules and regulations for the entire school year. Violation of any of these rules may result in any of the following: the loss of parking privileges on USD 437 property, a traffic ticket, and/or the vehicle being towed.

1. Students shall only park in the student parking lot located on the East side of the building.
2. Students are not assigned specific parking spaces and may park anywhere within the student parking lot on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Student parking hangtags must be visible from the front of the vehicle.
4. Students are not permitted to park in faculty-designated areas at any time. This includes the front row of the student lot, which is reserved for staff.
5. Students must notify the Chief of School Police if they drive a different vehicle to school. All tag numbers of alternate cars driven must be on file with the school. Email the Chief @ ralstsa1@usd437.net
6. Any conduct deemed reckless by USD 437 Police in accordance with state statute may result in the issuance of traffic tickets and/or the loss of parking privileges and other disciplinary action.
7. All drivers must adhere to the posted speed limit of 10mph. Pedestrians and school buses always have the right of way.
8. Students must leave their vehicle and the parking lot immediately upon arriving at school. Students may not enter the parking lot during the day without written permission from an administrator or a pass from the Attendance Office.
9. Cutting across rows of parking or driving the wrong way in the lanes is not permissible when entering or exiting the parking lot. All driving must be in the driving lanes between the parking spaces.
10. Students cannot give, sell, or transfer their parking permit to another student. Parking privileges will immediately be revoked if this occurs.
11. Students found parking in the faculty parking areas, the bus lane, in visitor-designated spaces, or driving non registered vehicles without approval will be referred to their assigned administrator for discipline action. In addition, they may have their parking permit suspended and/or have their vehicle towed at their expense.
12. All students that park on USD 437 property are required to have current and valid insurance on the registered vehicle throughout the entire school year. In cases of accidents occurring on school property, USD 437 Police will generate a report within 10 days of the accident. Insurance companies can call 785-339-4109 to request a copy of the report.
13. The school is not responsible for any damages, loss, or theft to any vehicle or its contents while on school property. Students parking or driving on school property should take all necessary precautions to prevent loss to their vehicle and its contents by keeping the vehicle locked at all times, not giving the keys to anyone else, not leaving valuable items inside the vehicle while on school property, and obeying all the above regulations.

If for any reason the parking permit is revoked, the parking fee will not be refunded.
